You can from the Favorites palette. (Window menu -> Floating Palettes) Highlight the favorite and select Delete from the flyout at the top. It's not possible from the element settings dialog.
Try keeping the Favorites palette around. By double-clicking a favorite, you can instantly activate/set up a tool, or change the settings of a selected element. Very convenient. You also need the palette to save and load favorites.
