Those trusses you have created are objects if I am not wrong?
If those objects do not have a fill then the selection magnet will not work.
As the magnet is attracted to the fill of the element.
All you can do is to select the obvious nodes at the four corners of the truss or in the exact centre.
Creating a truss with the truss maker add-on does not create a fill it seems.
At least I can't get it to work.
It is a very old add-on.
Barry.

Thank you, Barry! I didn't know that the selection magnet is tied to the fill of the element. I guess I am going to use a custom beam instead because it's much more editable and selectable. I changed the fill type of the truss to a foreground/solid fill (previously it was a background fill) but that didn't improve element's 2D performance.
