Finding the angle of anything

Is there a way to find out what the angle of something is? similar to the element info box which gives length etc, knowing the angle would be nice.

We have a case where we have drawings from a consultant and some of the walls (lines from AutoCAD) are apparently off by fractions of a degree which when extended long distances becomes inches. It appears that there are some that are correct and some that are not however the difference is so slight its hard to tell visually. Right now it seems the quickest way is to redefine the user origin (Shift + Opt) at each line and then place the mercedes cursor on the line to see the angle in the coord. box. Its relatively quick but there are a lot of these and it would be nice to be able to just click on each one and see the angle listed in a box somewhere.

as far as I know there is no way to do this, other than what you're already doing (redefining user-origin..etc.) I've often asked myself why theres nothing in ArchiCAD to just display the relative angle of a selection, but I've never found one (but then again I've never asked here)

Hai Keven,

There is no other solution to find the angle apart from shifting the origin. There is an Add-on from Cigraph called Archi- Ruler with this add on you can get the angle and other parameters with a click.

For more information visit www.cigraph-store.com or www.archiruler.com

Hope this helps,
Srinivas.

Draw a single line on top of the wall and read the angle from the coordinate box

Maybe I do not Understand, but the solution sounds like the need to use of the Angle Dimension Tool. Create a new layer called "Bogus AutoCAD stuff" and place dimensions on this layer. Just select wall lines and place dimension. Sometimes the text may need to be moved. You can set the angle dimension tolerance in the Preferences.
