Fit screen in Archicad

Hello everyone,

I’m having a problem in Archicad 25. I took over a residential building renovation project from a colleague (see photo floor plan OK), and when I click the “Fit to Screen” button (see photo floorplan 02), the view zooms out and I can only see outlines in the upper left corner (see photo floor plan 03).

When I try to switch to another floor, the same thing happens, and I’m forced to close and reopen the file each time.

Could anyone please advise me on what might be causing this problem?

Sorry, my Archicad is in Czech.

Thank you for your help.

Select all and se where the black hotpots are.

I would be looking for something in the opposite corner.

It looks like your model is very far way from the project origin. I suspect you are modelling it based on real world coordinates?

It is better to move your project close to the origin and instead use the Survey Point to set the real world coordinates.

Modelling very far away from origin can cause issues, since the software has to calculate with very large X and Y coordinates.

Problem is that I cant even zoom to my model. If it's far away from origin, then I should be able to zoom to model, but that corner "something" isn't my model. It's just some random "view". My model is close to origin. I tried to view all layers, but nothing is somewhere far off

Fit to Window will fit the content into the current window.

So the must be content far away from your model.

What happens when you select all (CTRL+A).

Do you see any black nodes in that corner?

I'm sorry to tell you, but there is nothing far away. In 3D its nothing and nothing in 2D. This problem is only in 1st floor and -1st. and I have all layers turned on .. i cant see any dots on the screen

OK, so if it is only on 2 of the storeys, let's try and narrow it down some more.

In plan go to one of those storeys, zoom into your main model and turn all layers off, you will be left with just the Archicad layer on.

Make sure the arrow (select) tool is active.

Fit in window and see what happens.

The zoom will not change, unless you have something in that layer.

CTRL+A and see if anything selects.

Right mouse click and choose 'zoom to selection'.

I would expect there to be nothing, unless you add elements to that layer.

Now turn on one or a few layers.

Repeat.

Nothing, turn on more layers.

Repeat.

Keep doing this until it zooms way out.

When it does, then you have an idea of what layer the problem elements are in.
