License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Graphisoft Reseller Situation

Recently, our reseller regions were changed. We were served by Digital Vision, out of Orange County, CA, which is about 4-5 hours away. We were very happy with them, as they often came to Phoenix to actively support the product, and they had a local office. Now, apparently, we're linked with someone in Houston... CADeShack, which is 18 hours away! They are further away than about 30% of the United States! I haven't worked with them yet, but this seems like an illogical move. I don't see how they can interact with us much at all, given their HUGE region (Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas), and though they mention a Phoenix office, I see no local phone number or address. I would think that Graphisoft would want to have a better presence in order to develop market share? Or are we dismissed as "fly-over" country?

So... what's going on with Graphisoft's distribution and support strategy?

I doubt Graphisoft is discounting Arizona. I hadn't realized Digital Vision no longer has Arizona as part of their area. Times are tough everywhere.

Yes, CADeshack does have a partner whose office is in Phoenix (he just is not listed as "CADeshack").

GS restructured the resellers after the Nemetschek merging. Many resellers did not get their contracts renewed, and most got their regions adjusted. CADeshack was, and still is, one of the more solid resellers so you should not get worried about your new reseller. BTW - I am an associate with CADeshack so we may get a chance to work together.

Chuck,
It is true that CADeshack is your supporting reseller for Arizona at this time. We have many clients in different states and have been a reseller since 1997. I am an architect registered in several states and have used ArchiCAD since 1992 and am the principal of CADeshack. We have associates in Phoenix but generally support the region by channeling all information/support/requests/accounting from our main office in Houston. We also worked with Digital Vision prior to them exiting the Arizona market so are familiar with many Arizona clients although we may not have spoken to you direct recently.
Graphisoft is always trying to improve their reseller channel and they have made a number of moves regarding representation throughout the US.
There are steps being taken now to increase the local presence in Arizona so Graphisoft has not abandoned the region.
Please let us know if you have any additional comments or concerns as we do care about all ArchiCAD users whether they are in our region or not.
Happy Modeling!
