Having a horizontal roof, but glassed, not skylighting

Hi there,

Just wanted to ask some quick questions for anyone that can help me :]

Firstly, I want to have like a corridor, with a horizontal roof, though I want to have like windows, lets say, on the top, not skylighting, just windows. Anyone know how to do that?

My next question is, if there is any easy way to have like thin ciruclar steel's coming from the side of my building to hte floor? Similar to that of the image that comes up when you open ArchiCAD 12.

Thank you for any help =]

Have done a glazed sloping roof before.

Set up a roof using the roof tool, and for the materials change it to clear or blue glass. Then put some rafters in using the beam tool or roof framing objects, setting their height and colour to look like glazing bars. Think I made the roof 20mm thick, which is about the thickness of double glazing.

No reason why you should not be able to do the same but set the roof pitch to 0 degrees

May also be able to do it with an angled wall. Again with the angle set to 0 degrees, and then just put a window in it. Have also seen this done for clerestorey sloping windows.

We love to play 'Guess the ArchiCAD Version' on this forum, so I'm going to hazard a guess that your on AC12, in which case the Curtain Wall tool should take you where you need to go.

Cheers,

you could just use the slab and assign it the glass material
