put the complex profile fill on the "outside."
Flip the fill so that the origin side is the outside of the post.
Draw the post to the correct radius — small enough so that there is no hole down the middle.

Dwight wrote:You could do the following with OBJECTiVE:
what about the cutout?
- 1) Draw the curved profile of one facet in the post and make a new profile with
OBJECTiVE->Component->New Profile(profile shown in 3D).
2) View the profile in elevation (or useOBJECTiVE->Tools->Rotateto lay it flat in plan) and use the Bend tool OBJECTiVE->Tools->Bendto curve it inwards.
3) View the profile in plan again (or rotate it upright), and cut a triangular wedge out of it with the Split toolOBJECTiVE->Tools->Split
4) Multiply it around the full 360 degrees, and use the Split tool again to chop off any unwanted remainder.
5) Finished result in 3D
