This is a nice method of doing this, but I cant seem to get it to work, whenever I've needed to put a gable end on a hip roof, I've always drawn the hip roof and then grabbed all the points from say the left side of the peak and dragged the nodes to the edge to create a gable, the way [Dwight] described seems much more efficient and leaves less room for error, but I cant seem to work it out I just made a new file to practice, and I drew a hip roof, and then selected it, did edit->split and drew a line across the roof, and then selected on one side of the line, but nothing seems to happen, the line disappears and the command closes... any ideas?
