How to create a curved metal object

Hello,

Id like to create a object similar to that found in the link below. I require it to be one contirnious piece of metal so that you don't see any joints. I know that in some software you can create a 'spline' and use a profile (in this case a circles) to 'drag' the profile around the spline and create the frame.

I'm not sure how I would do this in Archicad.

Thank you

Use Olivier Dentan´s object "Tubes.gsm":

I think that you can not make it without joints; on the picture there are present thicker and thinner profiles.

In ArchiCAD 16 you would be able to do this with the morph tool.

Of course! I forgot about that. I've drawn the profile (in section) using the polygonal profile. How would I add depth to it, like I wrote about earlier?

Just draw your profile in section using the morph tool. You'll end up with a polygon in 3d. This you can just drag along a path using the tube command in pet palette. There are a lot of tutorials in the archicad youtube channel to help you along with the morph tool.

You can even hide edges with the morph tool.
