Transferring the 6.0 drawings up (saving in 9.0) the 10.0 version will not transfer the tekton font even though it shows that the font is there.
I guess you realize that it's the platform change that's crossing you up. There are font conversion programs available. You can try Version Tracker to see if there is any freeware that might do the trick.
