Merging ArchiCad Model into "New" Template File

Anonymous
Not applicable
With the "re-invention" of some 40% of my working methodology, I have arrived at a New Template with all my layers, views and the sort that I want. I started as a AC 6.5 and AC 7 user. Now with AC 9 I have a better idea (not the best yet) of how to work in AC.

For a re-do of an older project created in AC 7 or AC 8.1, what is the best way to transfer it into my new working methods? I know about the attribute manager, but I can not update my views and Display property settings from there.

Is it best to open the old plan and purge all unused attributes and overwrite any "old name" layers with the "new name" using my template.pln. Save the file as "Client name Merge". Open a new file using my template and merge the "Client name Merge.pln"?

Is this the way to bring old plans into my "New and improved methodology?

I know that most of my library object ( which have been updated with AC 9) will have to be swapped out with the new and improved parts that I have saved in my Favorites file.

Thanks for any help.
