Move using delta r not working anymore

I have upgraded to a new macbook Air with Lion. I am still using AC11. It has been a while since I have drafted anything due to the lack of new work. 😞

When I try and move an element a specified distance it just moves to were my cursor is.

Here is what I remember and am trying now:
1. Click on the x y and r a coordinates pallet till they are both showing the delta symbol.
2. Click on element, start drag while holding shift.
3. Click r and let go of shift
4. Type in 8/ (for 8")
5. Click enter

The element just gets moved to were I stopped the original drag from step 2, regardless of the distance I type in step 4.

What am I doing wrong?

Try an other way?Turn on Tracker function on standard toolbar

I'm using this method!
