Problem with (wrongly changed) cursor selection settings

Hi!

I must have changed something in my cursor settings during work, and it's ruddy anoying, specially that I can't find where to change it back...

The cursor with left click highlights for example lines but not fills and objects are highlighted/selected with the same move. I can only select these if clicking somewhere near or inside the fill/object than after a small x have appeared -from which- I can pull out a "marquee" which then in turn selects the fill/object (and anything else in the range). What have I done...?
See attached pict as well...
Tried the arrow tools settings, geometry methods, selection methods but nothing seems to resolve the issue.

You have Quick Selection turned off. Click on the magnet button as shown.

Note that with quick selection turned on the Spacebar temporarily disables it (when held down)
