Project Recovery and Autosave Conflict in AC11

When AC 10 crashed and autosave was active, we could start AC again and the 'Project Recovery' dialogue opened to allow you to easily get at the last autosaved version. This also works in 11.........sometimes! If it doesn't you are scuppered because in starting AC the autosave files are deleted and everything has gone.
If (like me) you have got used to relying on autosave then 11 is WORSE than 10 in this respect. When I'm developing a design I like to keep lots of undo options so dont do many manual saves. Consequently I've lost the better part of two separate days work within the last week.
The 'Project Recovery' feature was a good one and needs fixing quick...................or am I missing something?

I agree. Autosave is fine when re-entering Acad after a straightforward crash. But I managed to mess up a drawing recently with no 'Undo' option, so I thought - okay I'll retrieve the autosaved version. Then I made the mistake of closing the file - which made the autosaved version disappear!

Also - I wonder why the autosaved file has such an obscure name - 'Global.T' ?? This doesn't exactly help the stress level when you're trying to remember where it is after meltdown!

Same file crashed again this PM. I followed the advice on ArchicadWiki.com(TechNotes/No auto-saved file after crash) then started 11 again and project recovery appeared! The difference was that I did a bug report after the crash and I took my time. A pattern may be emerging..........
Incidentally, ArchicadWiki.com addresses Keiths idea but you need to force close Archicad via task manager so that the autosave folder is not deleted.(Technotes/Recovering project data after mistaken exit)
