Removing a merged dxf file

I would like to merge a dxf file into a new drawing then draw the walls over the outline. After that's done how can I remove just the dxf drawing? Thanks!

Create a story with a height of zero. Place the file on this story. Show it as a ghost and trace it. You can delete it later if you wish but you don't have to.

Use File> External Content> XRef Manager... to attach the DXF. You can put it on any story and ghost it. Once done, use XRef Manager again to Detach it and be sure to remove all attributes, so that the layers, linetypes, etc go with it.

Alternatively you can use the Drawing tool, which is the preferred method if you don't need to control the DXF layers, or manage revisions of the DXF. This method won't bring in any of the Xref atributes and can be simply deleted at the end.

The beauty of the Xref method is that if the DXF is updated, you can simply redirect the path of the Xref to the new file and it will instantly update.

Link: Is there a way to see the drawing if it's on a ghost layer? ..... or to keep it from momentarily disappearing when you pan and zoom (when it's on the same layer)?

EDIT: Err. never mind. It's PDF imports (a drawing) that I was having problems seeing/disappearing
