Hi all!

¿Anybody knows anything about AC 12, please?

I'm hearing rumours, but nothing concrete...

Thanks a lot and regards.

For what its worth. New member "barking's" list is some of the things that were in the beta. My reseller called and laid out barkings list plus acouple of others.

Now I gotta get the higher ups to spring free for a bunch of green.

You can't say "others" and then nothing!
which others?

My reseller was talking to me one on one. He did not want what he said repeated in public. I must obey, and since it was beta, features he was using might not make it to the final show. He did say that if the beta doesn't get stripped down, it will be the most important update since 9.

i need to know
all this secrecy arouses my curiosity

if you can't tell features at least you could tell the approximate date of the official announcement or release date?

Huh, so is your reseller going to get canned by Graphisoft for divulging sacred secrets like mine was for posting a stupid video that told nothing of new features but was considered a breach of the "non-disclosure agreement"?
A move that has really torqued me off.
Why does Graphisoft conjur up thoughts of "secret police" in my head?
Is all this stupid secrecy (oh, and it IS stupid) ingrained into an organization because of its beginnings under a Communist regime?

The troop of monkeys that runs the "marketing" department of Graphisoft better pull their collective heads out and start actually doing some work...
LIKE DRUMMING UP TALK AROUND THE WORLD OF HOW GREAT AND GROUND-BREAKING THAT ARCHICAD 12 IS GOING TO BE!
...and from what I understand, it is going to be just that.

<<GREAT AND GROUND-BREAKING>>
Obviously did not use google to translate the previously posted Finnish link. Prepare for disappointment.
Most of it is tools we already have (hopefully they work this time, eg. grid tool that is notoriously buggy!), that supposedly will run faster....

No 3d modelling tools. No update to rendering interface (let alone engine). No update to materials interface. Still no way to manage revisions of drawings (in 2008 how can ArchiCAD be contemplated as a serious documentation tool when this is still not addressed!!!).

I know <<quick>> buy out CADIMAGE and bundle their tools with ArchiCAD. Now that would be a start!

The height of innovation? We'll release a "cut down version" of ArchiCAD.....I've been looking for strategic thinking at GS for some time, and this development just depresses me....

Can the Administrator please do us the courtesy of telling us the loyal users, the reason for deleting the only marketing of AC 12 available. If Graphisoft are going to continually keep us in the dark without even at least giving us an announcement date it is going to alienate your users

PS I see they have forced the delete of the AC 12 information on M.A.D. as well.
Imac, Big Sur AC 20 NZ, AC 25 Solo UKI,
....this is unbelievably ridiculous, to say the least. I'm surprised they haven't just gone ahead and deleted the entire thread - but maybe that's yet to come. Forcing the Finnish site to take down their web-page was an especially nice, cosa-nostrian, touch.

Someone before had mentioned something to do with Communist era gestapo-like mentality regarding this whole secrecy spiel.

I fail to see how this can in any way help GS insofar as the marketing for AC12 is concerned - like I said before, they're either setting the users up for a considerable disappointment by inadvertently setting expectations way too high or they're trying to limit what they are concerned will be the inevitable disappointment that the customers will feel, when the version is eventually released and the feature-list and improvements are woefully underwhelming, to say the least.

Either way, the secrecy and the comical PR management is just basically atrocious, and will do nothing more than harm them eventually. I suggest they take a look at how a company like Ferversoft manages their PR and customer expectations of a product still in development (Fryrender) with the frequent update for users on what features to expect and that are being tested in the Beta version. But then again Feversoft have nothing to worry about regarding any potential disappointment by the customers of their soon to be released product.

Nonetheless, I can't wait to read the apologists' explanations, defenses and excuses for this.
