Roof over roof

When I build a roof with the overhang over a lower roof plane the section of lower roof plane dissapears.
There must be a way to get around this, can somebody help please.
In the top part of the picture the lower roof plane will not generate under the higher steeper roof plane.
In the lower part of the picture I have pulled the steep plane back, the lower plane then generates.
Hope this is clear.

Maybe someone who is good at AC will give you a better answer but if I were doing this I would either make separate little piece of roof and use it to fill in the hole or similarly to the overhang and let the flat roof naturally fill the hole.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

I had used the roof join command at the change in pitch, also the trim to roof command for the wall that you can see.
At the opposite end of the same roof, I pulled one over the other and it was fine.
I will try some experimentation with this problem when I get some spare time.
David, I have been trying unsuccessfully to add a signature in my profile.
I did at least make a note that I am using AC16 in the post.

When you select the roof over I assume you will see a "Connection" icon - four blue squares.
When you expand this there will be a list of all the roofs that are connected.
Scroll down the list and you will see them high-light in the model.
Click on the cross at the end to stop that connection.

If SEO or Connect, it could be the difference between the Trimming Body being set to Contours Down or Pivot Line Down, and the relationship between the Pivot Lines and the Contours (perimeter) of the roof. In the Help files see: Virtual Building > Construction Elements > Trim Elements to Roof or Shell > Define Trimming Bodies.
