Snap problem

I am having a snap issue and can't find the answer to fix it. Have been looking it up and have tried all the way I can to get it to work. I have snap on and it still doesn't snap to mid points. It won't snap when drawing a line to the 90s of 45s, have checked everything in the work environment and still nothing. What am I missing?

Turn 'snap to grid' off as this forces your cursor to snap to only the grid co-ordinates so unless they also match your mid points or guidelines you will not be able to snap to those.
With 'grid snap' off you will then be able to snap to your mid points and guide lines.
'S' I believe is the standard 'grid snap' keyboard shortcut to turn it on/off.
