Spiral stair around a wall made into a CONE.

Does anyone know the best way to build a spiral stair inside a tapering wall cone? So in other words the stair is not just a simple spiral, it becomes smaller at the top.

If anyone has any ideas or links please let me know!!

Hi Little 148
You might try putting the stair inside whatever cone you design. SEO the stair with the cone. In other words pick the cone as operator and the stair as target: Design>Solid Element Operations.
Choose; Subtraction with upwards extrusion
Put the cone on a layer you can turn off.
I call mine z-seo so it's at the bottom of list.

As has been mentioned before, you might not want to put your email for bots to grab.

You can also do this with Cigraph Archistair 2 by creating a fill that matches the shape of the stair. You'll be able to create/edit railings/etc and have 3D hotspots to let you reshape the result to hug your cone since getting the geometry of the spiral might be tricky.

I would imagine that the CadImage stairbuilder could do something similar?

Cheers,

Hi Folks,

This may be a little OT... Sorry for that...

... But the correct name for the "Spiral Stair" in the ArchiCAD library should be "Helicoidal Stair"...

There's a big difference between spiral and helicoidal.
