Trouble modelling sun shading device

Hi!

I don't know what is the best way to model a sun shading device in archicad, like a brise soleil. I have found a tutorial explaining how to do it in revit, building the object as a parametric component: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=immNHXV67dY, but was unable to find it for archicad...

What is the correct way to do it? Using only the morph tool? If I want to give the objects parametric characteristics must I go the GDL route? If so, what are the correct parameters?

Thanks for your attention!

You don't say what version of Archicad you are using.
You should add it to your signature in your profile (link at the top of the forum).

I am pretty sure there are some objects already in the standard Archicad library.
If you are on 16 or 17 then try the BIM components portal (i.e. search in the object settings dialogue).

You could model your own with walls, slabs, roofs, and morphs but as you say they will not be parametric.
To do that you will need to learn the GDL scripting language to make the objects.
You can save any selection of elements as an object but it still won't be parametric except for stretching the overall size (everything will adjust proportionally). Again to make it parametric you will need to learn GDL.

I'm using the 17 version; I updated my profile, it should show up now.
That's what I thought, maybe I'll have to get my hands dirty after all!

Thanks for your help!
