Turning meshes into solid objects

can someone help me... i know how to create meshes but cant work out how to turn the mesh into a solid object... it only appears as a wire frame in the 3D window, and when i followed the instructions for turning a mesh into a roof... i couldnt find a "convert mesh to roof" button under tools

someone please help

There are no holes in the mesh, it is just a mesh between the at the front of the image and the curving road... then there are other meshes in the gaps between the path

what is this architerra program?
