As a general rule, JPEG is the worst possible file format to use because JPEG files contain artifacts that are emphasized in rendering, especially when you are trying to create a smooth gradient with a gigantic file.

Thanks for the tip.
Than what kind of format for gradient (or such vector for rendering) do you want to suggest? TIFF?

Anything but JPEG.
PNG is still compressed but better.
TIFF is a professional pre-press format that holds more information than Archicad can use. It can also support an alpha channel if you like to use them.

Thanks Dwight.
@Scrat.

First make gradient fill in elevation, and copy it and save as TIFF.
You can use this for your material in rendering, also for Open GL.

Now, another problem. I created fill in Adobe Photoshop and made a material. Now, when I apply it to the wall it's not stretch but tile... How do I make it stretch?

You don't - you need to make the original the correct size, then that should be reflected when it is imported in the Material dialog. Otherwise you can override the size there (not that I'd recommend it). Either way, be sure to check the Keep Original Proportions.

Cheers,

The easiest way to stretch any image to a full wall is to use Archicad's Material Dialog for the Internal Engine where the exact dimensions can be entered for any image regardless of proportion.

Measure the wall, change the material tile size to match.

Disproportionate stretching CAN lead to chromatic pixelation, however.

So, if I have 3 walls with different dimensions, I should create 3 different materials...
