Why the hotspots

just wondering why when you detach a a section from the model into a drawing it creates hotspots every where. Are these helpful in some way? or just some useless byproduct?

Hotspots, background "Empty Fills", etc. are by-products of converting the "live" 3D model into 2D drawing entities. Sometimes useless, sometimes not.

According to GS it's a built-in 'feature'. I think it is meant to help you if you edit the view and then make it live again?
