how is archicad 3d worked? i was given a brief introduction by GSNCE when they were in BC a while ago and i found it so confusing. maybe it is the too many attributes thing that got me scared!
anyways, back to vectorworks and archicad later.

You never used the 3D in ArchiCAD? It's very expensive to use only as a 2D-tool.
I suggest to follow at least one course. It'll cost, but you'll gain it back in one project.
Conversion to VectorWorks is indeed done through DWG or DXF.

I used to work on an office that used VectorWorks and had one copy of ArchiCAD to make presentations in 3D. After a while, the ArchiCAD-guy left and they sold ArchiCAD and bought 2 new Mac's and three VW-licenses with the money. I wasn't working there at the time or I could have proven them wrong.
