The easiest way would be to use a curved roof. Draw the profile of your curve on the floor plan and magic wand it with the roof tool. Then drag you cursor down (and click presuming you would like it to curve downwards), then drag it up the thickness of the beam and click to finish it.

The amount of segments in your roof is directly related to your Tools> Magic Wand Settings, so play with those for more/less accuracy.

Good luck!

I gave instructions for a 'beam' that curves in the vertical plane. I hope that's what you meant. For a beam that curves in the horizontal plane, I would simply use a slab or walls.

Maybe someone with more time (and tolerance for lame manners) would be inclined do that?

It's all in the Help menu...... and the F.M. so you may want to read it!;)

Look up 'Drawing Barrel-Vaulted Roofs'.

Good luck.

Also try using the TrussMaker.

Place a section where the axis of your beam is in the plan. Open it. Draw the center line of the arch in the section, select it, start TrussMaker. That's it.

All in the manual ... and the Help

Read first, try second, ask after that

to get the laminations try making a composite fill ( alternate the fill patterns or they will join once done as 3d) ie use cavity next to air space. apply that to your arch and you should see the laminations in section.
Also dont forget to make the composite file a construction type rather than a wall type
