imported drawings in archicad

When I have drawings imported in ArchiCAD from somewhere else, say an AutoCAD file-

Is there a way that the file can go with the ArchiCAD file with out sending it along seperately?

If there is, can it still be updated if the AutoCAD file is changed?

I assume taking the autocad with teh archicad means making it not dynamic . . .

If you XREF a dwg file into an Archicad project, it's an external linked file, but its contents are in fact embedded. You will be prompted to update it when Archicad finds a new version of the XREF.
