"Make those lines go away"

I'm using a roof system which is deeper over heated space than the exterior eaves (parallel chord trusses).

My model has two roofs with the same pitch/material/texture. The depths (and height) differ, but they do align at a point (along the top chord).

What's the simple solution to eliminate the line (in elevation) where the two roofs meet?

I can't use a patch fill (matching the roof's texture) as it isn't foreshortened with the roof pitch and therefore does not align.

Marc - are you having a tantrum??

This line will appear no matter what mate. You will have to use a fill to mask over it. Or over the whole roof if need be.

Cheers mate,

There are a few ways to patch it up mate. One way would be to copy your entire elevation and paste it onto your floor plan. Then you can either use those lines to make a specific fill - or just paste the (necessary) elements straight back onto the elevation and use a solid white fill along with Display Order to stack them.

Kinda messy, but it will get the job done.

Good luck mate,
Link.
Two things to try:

Use SEOs to add one roof to the other. Put the target on a hidden layer.

Stack the roofs rather than butting them. Use a 14" thick roof on top of a 10" roof. You can drag them in section to stack them precisely and they will clean up. I always do shed dormers this way. In the picture, the red dashed line shows the joint between the thin top roof and the bottom roof.
