setting up heaven

Hi people,

My question is broad rather than specific, more qualitative than quantitative... I have been working with AC for a while now and am still tweaking my profiles & templates. Is there any geek out there that has a step by step routine to set up our beloved program? I want to be thourough in my approach. Every new project finds me either importing or setting up from scratch. Windows always appear orange on plan, how do I make them all black, always? I never want to see the grid again but yet it is always there when I start from scratch... no whaddaImean.

Please help, I need a preflight checklist to guide me through every single customizablesaveableprofiletemlate there is.

Many thanks,
H

Intriguing topic title. Pulled me right in.

Two thoughts:
  • 1) Take a serious look at Eric Bobrow's Archicad Master Template. It's good and apparently getting better. Tweeking is still required but at least you are starting much further ahead and with what I would consider a best-of-breed approach.

    2) Once you create a template you love and have everything just the way you want it (but a black screen? That is the path of darkness Luke) always start new projects from within that template.
Good Luck

And good for you, because posting a suspicious topic like that risks getting the user banned outright.

When the system tells you you aren't connected you assume that the posting failed..... and so it goes...

Yeah but the punishment for double posting is much more severe: you quickly become post leader in the forum......

thanks Chazz, you gave me a great lead.

Dwight, please forward me the topic rules so I won't fall foul of you again... getting banned outright seems a severe punishment for no reason.

Topic names should really be specific and highly relevant to the post. This is because we are not just trying to address individual questions but to author a user-generated archive/resource for people searching the forums in future. Specific topic names help with that. Good luck.

South Africa.... Lovley country. I proposed to my wife on the top of Table Mountain in Cape Town. Foolishly she said yes.

Hi,

I apologise for flaunting the topic rules. To me having AC behave from scratch the way I would love it to is something close to heaven. To me it's relevant, to others not.

And yes Chazz SA is an awesome place of beauty and humour, thanks for the compliment.
