AC10 MAC problem with Baltics!?!

AC10 MAC doesn't recognize Baltic fonts!? (win version hasnt any problems of this kind)
the only thing where aint no problems- text tool- when using the fonts that have Baltic encoding beneath them (arial, tnr a.o.)
but all the text fields that are 'within app' does not accept baltic fonts (ā,č,ē etc)
project info
zone names
view names
layout names
shedules
....
everything!

'does not accept' means that when im typing a particular character, ā for example, i have to press ' and a. but ac10 just doesnt react in any way after this combination.

in the screenshot the file is made in win version, but opened in mac. The ? stands for characters mac (actualy ac10, because in other apps there arent problems) cant recognize.
please help me!
what is the solution for the problem? is it possible to change ac10 app font to one that recognizes baltic fonts? or could i upgrade somehow/somewhere the existing app font? or try to install some specific fonts in the system (osx 10.4.7)?
maybe someone could share the knowledge.
