Slowdown on MacBook Pro Retina with Trace containing a Drawing
Issue
Pan, zoom, navigation and creation of new elements can be extremely slow on machines with high resolution screens when the Trace & Reference is turned on and contains a drawing.
Update: Based on the latest this this issue looks like to specific to Macs with Retina display. Handling of any view can be slow, not only ones with drawings.
Cause
Displaying the layers of the traced view is significantly slower on computers with Retina display.
Workaround
- By lowering the resolution in ARCHICAD this process can be calculated much faster. This can be configured in the Get Info dialog of the ARCHICAD starter icon, by ticking the "Open in Low Resolution" checkbox.
- Having the Trace & Reference with Original color can also help to speed up the handling
NOTE: GRAPHISOFT plans to enhance this calculation speed for machines with high resolution screens.
