Add existing items to an existing layer

It seems that unless I hide the layer I want the objects moved to, they don't move at all. It helps to hide the layer anyway so I can see that each group of items does in fact move, but do I need to?? Also, why doesn't everything selected move with one layer name selection, rather than a group of items at a time?? It would be nice to move an entire floor plan to one layer with one move rather than many. Am I all wet and just a slacker for not reading and understanding the tutorial?? Lack of time......

Steve,

I think you are looking for the "Edit Selection Set" command. It's in the Edit menu (naturally) and there is also a button for it in the info palette. BTW it is also possible to change the primary pen setting for different element types.

Didn't find the answer?
