Both NCS and standard labels are behaving similarly. When I place a single label, the ID is unrecognized. If I select Document->Annotation->Label Selected Elements the label behaves inserts correctly.

Your label tool is not set to 'Associated' geometry method.
When you use the menu command you select the element and it is automatically associated when you do that.

I see. Interesting that setting is only available in the info box and not in the label settings. Thx

That is the same for all tools - no geometry method in the tool settings, just the info box.
I think the wall tool is the only one that has some limited geometry settings in the too settings dialogue.

Yes dimensions allow a choice to be static or associative in the dimension settings box. The zones do the same. Most objects in ArchiCAD controls in the object settings. Its strange that the only way to access that setting is through the info box.

Those geometry settings that you see in the info box but not the settings, are only useful (settable) before you place the element.
Once the element is place, these settings mean nothing and can not be changed.
I assume that is why they do not appear in the element settings dialogue.
Yes, you can open the tool settings before you place an element, but 99.9% of users will have the info box open, so there is no need to duplicate these options in the tool settings.
