Layer combinations/ cut fills

Maybe someone could help...
The story: I have different floor plans and I`m curious how can I make, for example, that on the fire plan specific wall fills are shown as red, green or anykind without making a change to the main floor plan. Basically, how to work with layer combinations and adjust cut fill as needed?

I'd have thought that using different pen sets for each view might be easier, or if you're working in AC15 you can try making the Renovation filter do it for you.
