Afaria,
Generally, you want to keep the servers separate. The BIMCloud server can use up a lot of resources, and this may conflict with a File Server running on the same machine. Keep your File Server on a separate machine, and create folders in your Standard Project Folders to save Published PMKs, PDFs, DWGs, IFCs, and ArchiCAD PLN/PLA archives.
Keep in mind that, if you're using Windows, your file server will require Client Access Licenses (CALs) for users to access the shares. However, the BIMCloud server does not require any such access, and can be run on a non-server-class machine (or multiple machines if you have the paid enterprise BIMCloud instead of BIMCloud Basic). You can run it on a standard Windows workstation, and just provide HTTP internet access.
One more note: if users are working remotely, they cannot access PMKs directly though the BIMCloud. You would need a separate VPN system to update these links. However, if updating is not necessary, users can work from anywhere with internet access on the ArchiCAD Teamwork files, without a VPN.
