layers name in color

I know, I should make a wish post, but first I'd like to get some feedback on idea that just popped into that AC brain/drain moment.

As composites need to grow for all the new stuff, (read green and beyond), layers just beg to grow like, well, green weeds.

So, point is.

Would having colors assignable to layer names make the swoop and grab just a bit more fun?
Don't shoot me, I'm just the guy with an idea.
