error occurred in the last teamwork operation. synchronize..

I've received this error message a few times : " Error occurred in the last teamwork operation. synchronize client-created objects failed"

The project in which I'm experiencing this problem has numerous custom library parts (and modules) that we have created in order to be able to sort information with the scheduling tools. it's a chemical science laboratory with many different types of equipment - we have modelled each piece of equipment and turned them into library parts so that we can use a customised element list to list the equipment. I assume that the 'client-created objects' are these library parts we've created.

I haven't been able to figure out how the problem comes about(i.e what we've done before the problem appears) or how to solve it once it does occur, apart from reloading from the server and losing work in the process.

Any ideas as to how this can be fixed? In the past I've discarded changes to the TW and reloaded it from our BIM server.

also, any comments on the process we've used for the of scheduling the equipment would be welcome.

thanks...

We've had this error before (I think we've had every error conceivable), but I cannot recall exactly how we fixed it. We may have reloaded the libraries from the teamwork menu, or it may have fixed itself. It obviously wasn't a big enough issue (compared to the others) for me to remember.

Have you updated to the latest hotfix - 3862?

If so, I would export out all custom parts from the embedded library, then delete the from the library, then add them back one by one, sending and receiving each time. Or do that in reverse - start removing them and send/receive until you find which one is causing the problem. Either way - export them first! That way you can be more selective - chances are you have an idea of which one it may be.

Once you find it you can decide whether to delete it or fix it somehow.

Keep in mind that if you have hotlink modules, the issue could be compounded through your hotlink libraries.

Cheers,
Link.

I have been going through some of my correspondence with GSHQ Tech Support and found a note regarding this error:

This error message could come if the project has some attribute or embedded library problem. Such elements or attributes which could be generated so that the user doesn't neccessary to reserve anything before creating it. Please ask a support package from the user if he experiencing this again. (both client and server side infos would be neccessary in the support package)

As I vaguely recall, the problem went away so we never had to send a support package.

Cheers,

This article describes error messages:

The only way to find out what exactly happened is to send a support package to the dev team for investigation. They might find an error that can be fixed. Please create a support package and ask your local support o send it to HQ.

Thanks for the responses - I didn't see them until now, but as Link mentions the problem seems to have fixed itself. Or at least it hasn't popped up again *yet*.

If it does, I'll try remove the objects and add them one by one as suggested.

thanks again...
