40% WireFusion Discount Offer for ArchiCAD-TALK

Not applicable
My work with WireFusion and ArchiCAD models has gotten the attention of Demicron. Demicron and myself have discussed it and they would like to extend a Special Offer to all of the ArchiCAD users.

It works like this:

They are offering all ArchiCAD Talk readers a 40% discount on the Standard ($99) and Professional ($995) editions for a short time period.

Today starts the advertising period which will last until Sunday February 27th. Just Enter the discount coupon code shown below in order to receive the special pricing.

Just so you know, I use the Standard Edition and I find that it works perfectly well for most purposes (ie. Java Applet to Web or disc). Learn more at their excellent web site which displays information about all of the different versions.

Sincerely,
Mark Burginger

Hey Mark,
Now that I know I can charge 15% for my services, $99 is nothing. However, learning new software is expensive. Why would I want to spend the time learning C4DCE+ instead of LW in AC9? Can I finally dump ArtLantis? ..or do I need to know all three? Thanks,

Why stop at 15% I liked the 25% better!

But seriously, the technical goal here is to move an ArchiCAD 3D model from ArchiCAD to WireFusion. If ArchiCAD had a decent VRML2 export module there would be absolutely no need to use C4D, or Max or anything else in order to make the translation.

Since the ArchiCAD VRML export function does not work up to established standards you need to export from ArchiCAD as a 3ds. Then you load the 3ds into a program that can read 3ds and export VRML2. This inexpensive version of C4D (CE+) will do that job for $99. Thats all you need to know about this Cinema4D program - how to import and then export. Then you can create 3D realtime models like the one shown below with WireFusion.

One thing you will notice about this WireFusion model - all you had to do is click on it. No need for plug-ins, etc. I find that I can share information this way with anyone and I never hear, "I couldn't load it?".

Beyond that, yes CE+ is a great entry program into the world of Cinema4D. Cinema is a fine program and with the CE+ you can create illustrations such as this: (no radiosity used)

------- Anatomy of a Simple Residential Addition --------

During the process of developing a solution for a residential remodel I now export a progress model for the client. They enjoy it and saves from little phone calls, "Are we there yet?".

Please see the example at:

Dear Client:

The model of your existing home is finished and you can see it at:

Left mouse button on the image and move mouse to rotate - Right mouse button to zoom in and out

***Special Note from Thread Author***

I hope this isn't a test of common sense.

Hundreds of people have clicked on the Logo Images within this thread. What are you hoping to see?? A bigger Logo?

Here is an example of a feature that could be a wish list item for WireFusion:

Align a 3D model with background.

Ahh.. nice.. PhotoMatch for C4D? Did you just overlay in an image editor and create an animation from that? Just curious...

No this was all within Fusion. The photo is a background element, the model is overlayed and placed by eye. Then I started a screen capture.

I wrote to WireFusion and they think it is a good concept and they will seriously think about including it in the next update.

If they do it proper then you can set the camera angle in the object editor of their program for a better overlay match.

Synergistic thinking.
