Speed AND Preview. Artlantis helps me keep problem-solving momentum. Waiting one or twelve hours doesn't matter if it is a background rendering. But you move on to other things if it is a slow render.
At the beginning of the process, I had a
theoretical knowledge of how to to the job. But in the four page article, it turns out that the solution is:
• a complex profile with three materials swept circular in Archicad - including base bubble and irregular base.
• a beer material
• two overlapping head foams
• a refractive glass material
• a photoshopped condensation texture- actually, the real work.
• seven lights - thinking like a studio photographer.
• a background photo that needed to be dark.
And then… how IS the thing supposed to look? So, one challenge is the tools, the other challenge is the art direction.
Truth is, serendipity played a part: i got lucky after Karl taunted me about the last version of this glass.
