Issue with Automatic Switching to 3D View When Activating 3D Sections in Archicad 28

In Archicad 28, I’ve encountered a workflow disruption related to the activation of 3D Sections.

Previously, when activating 3D Sections (e.g., via the toolbar) while working in a 2D view such as a floor plan, the 3D Sections would simply become visible in that view (floor plan, section, or elevation) without forcing a switch to the 3D view.

However, in Archicad 28, activating 3D Sections now automatically switches to the 3D view, regardless of the current view. This behavior interrupts the workflow, especially when adjustments to the 3D Section positions or extents need to be made directly within the 2D view (e.g., floor plan).

Request:

  • Is there a way to disable the automatic switch to the 3D view when activating 3D Sections?
  • If not, could you recommend a workaround to avoid having to manually switch back to the 2D view every time 3D Sections are activated?

This change significantly impacts efficiency in workflows that require simultaneous adjustments of 3D Sections and work in 2D views. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
