Shadow areas all over

I found this rendering fine for my requirements, but I would like to get rid of the strange shadows I got (marked in orange color).
I also would like to avoid the shadows that are spread all over the ceiling. It is the gypsi 60X60 material for ceiling embedded in archicad, and the texture of it never should show that shadows

Ussually this is solved with using a higher setting for global illumination.

To test this, I would put a marquee around one of those areas so you can render a small selection. Now go to Global Illumination in the Detailed Settings. Pick the 'interior high preset' and see if that gets rid of the spots.

It could also be an issue with the model (not likely though).

I think is something related with ambient occlusion, but when I downwards the sample or intensity I lower the shadows but I get a faded picture with lack of contrast. Does anyone have this problem?
