Texture-Landscape

Hi Everyone

i'm going to buy archicad to create 3D/renderings to advertise the villas my company builds.
Before proceeding i have some questions about its functioning.

How do textures and materials work? I mean, how do you apply a material or a finishing to a wall? Is there a complete library?

And how does the landscaping work? (Garden, plants, flowers ...)
I'm asking because i couldn't find the answers in the forum or in the archicad 10 advertising material.

I'm attaching a couple of renderings of a company that builds round here. I'd like to reach this quality. Do you think they used archicad with some rendering software?

Thank you very much for any suggestion.

Regards

Robert

Materials and textures are in library and you can add your own custom materials and textures. You have a great tutorials about Lightworks engine.

Personally i use Art.lantis R to do this kind of work. I find it most user friendly
piece of software made for architectural visualization with great features.

The vegetation is a bit of a problem for me in archicad i don`t do it. All vegetation i do inside Art.lantis and/or Photoshop...

I use Archicad all the time for this type render and really is very easy indeed. Applying texture etc is also pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

get the package and have a go !!

YES, You can do rendering in ArchiCAD, but you have to remeber that archiCAD is not program for rendering...
You can use some other softver like Artlantis, but if you want the greatest quality, then, I recomend ArchiCAD + 3dmax + V-ray

Thank you very much for your useful suggestions.

I’m trying to collect all the information I miss before buying the archicad and the rendering software and start learning.

-The libraries you talk about goes with the software or you have to buy additional material? From the images you see, more or less you can understand what kind of textures will I need.

-What are the differences between art.lantis and 3dmax? And how does the rendering work? I mean, all the structure and materials come with the archicad file and in the rendering program you have only to check options and proceed with the rendering or is it more complex?

-And about the vegetation and landscape: I see you recommend not to use archicad. How does it work in art.lantis or 3d max

I thank you very much for all your suggestions. You know, before taking an important decision it is best to check with someone who knows better than you….

Ciao

Robert
