Hi everyone,
a quick reminder for those who might be interested, the beta testing period of Thea Render is about to end, and version 1.0 will be released on the 21st of February.
So now is your last chance to take advantage of the low price offer while still in beta.

PS: note that I'm in no way affiliated with them, but I do immensely enjoy using their software. Like I do ArchiCAD 😉

this is worth a close look right now.

My first rendering in THEA: from an Archicad model [believe it or not].

Hi Dwight,
it is indeed worth a close look.
How's your experience with it? Enjoyable I suspect 😉
I believe you about the drill bit thingamajiggy modelled in AC, I can even see where the slab meets the profiled bits...

Cheers

Merely being accurate to the actual casting...

What plugin did you use?

Yo, Mike:

This was simply a 3ds export from Archicad.

thanks!

Dwight,
When are you going to have a materials library and book that I can purchase?
Dwight

You'll find many shared materials already in Thea's online community.

As for a book, we are still discussing it. I'm thinking that it is at least a year away - waiting until my cookbook for single men who cannot cook "Getting Chicks With Food: Being the Man in the Kitchen" is complete. Thea is crashing a lot. Seems to have trouble with sun adjustments.

Spurned by snotty Maxwell, I continue to seek interesting new illustration software.....

Hi Dwight,
what do you mean by crashing a lot?
It almost never crashes on me, except when I try to instance 10 mil high poly grass blades over 2 different canvas at the same time. Or when trying some stupidly high subdivision number for displacement.
Other than that, it's rock solid.
I've been using it on a daily basis since May last year, so let me know privately if you have any specific question.

Cheers

Well well well, there he is, good old Francois, still alive and well ! Nice to see you have stopped using Electrice Image, or so it seems.

Thea Render: looks interesting, will check out the website.

Cheers Carsten
