a quick reminder for those who might be interested, the beta testing period of Thea Render is about to end, and version 1.0 will be released on the 21st of February.
So now is your last chance to take advantage of the low price offer while still in beta.

Cheers

PS: note that I'm in no way affiliated with them, but I do immensely enjoy using their software. Like I do ArchiCAD

it is indeed worth a close look.
How's your experience with it? Enjoyable I suspect
I believe you about the drill bit thingamajiggy modelled in AC, I can even see where the slab meets the profiled bits...
Cheers

This was simply a 3ds export from Archicad.

Dwight,
When are you going to have a materials library and book that I can purchase?

As for a book, we are still discussing it. I'm thinking that it is at least a year away - waiting until my cookbook for single men who cannot cook
Spurned by snotty Maxwell, I continue to seek interesting new illustration software.....

what do you mean by crashing a lot?
It almost never crashes on me, except when I try to instance 10 mil high poly grass blades over 2 different canvas at the same time. Or when trying some stupidly high subdivision number for displacement.
Other than that, it's rock solid.
I've been using it on a daily basis since May last year, so let me know privately if you have any specific question.
Cheers
