Hi everyone,
a quick reminder for those who might be interested, the beta testing period of Thea Render is about to end, and version 1.0 will be released on the 21st of February.
So now is your last chance to take advantage of the low price offer while still in beta.

Cheers

PS: note that I'm in no way affiliated with them, but I do immensely enjoy using their software. Like I do ArchiCAD 😉

Here are the results of my first project rendered in Thea. Please note that the snow was done in Photoshop, was rushed, and I am not completely happy with it. But, I made the deadline! These were done for a Design Review submittal, so it was important to show views from the neighbor's homes rather than the best angle for this home.

I used the "Biased" settings, the default ones as I was too rushed to experiment. Each render averaged about 17 minutes for a 2000 pixel render on my crappy dual processor 2Gig RAM computer, so I was very pleased with the speed! Also, it was just so refreshing to see an image come out quickly with no anti-aliasing issues at all, and which I didn't need to plan for an "Under-Sun" as well as many other things. Just make the materials, hit the render button, and get ready to be impressed.

Finally, the part of this software which makes it absolutely invaluable to me is the ability to shift the lens. This has really solved so many problems for me that I am very willing to try and solve any other quirks it may throw at me. Such as the workflow issues stated above with many design variations... That is what I am experimenting with now.

Comments appreciated.

Thanks,
Foster

And Number 5... I do realize I should have spent more time on the Trusses, but this is what happens when the boss designs until the 11th hour... And then the client decides to change something...
