License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. exporting a 3d image

Hi!

I just recently started using the 3d in ARCHICAD and I have a question if anyone could answer it would be great!

I've modeled my building with different materials and I am trying to export an image from the 3d model but the image comes out without the textures and with the contour lines of the objects showing, I am attaching pictures to show you what I mean..

What i do now is:

select the area i want to view in 3d with the marquee tool
click on: show selection/marquee in 3d
go to the 3d view, right click and choose Capture window for 3d document.

What am i doing wrong?

Thank you!

3D documents are created with the internal rendering engine, not OpenGL. It is incapable of showing textures.

You'll be limited to 2D captures if you absolutely need textures.

s0f1a22:

From the 3d Window just do a Save As... and pick one of the image formats (jpg, etc). This will allow you to open the image in another application, or place it on a layout using the Figure or Drawing Tools.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

If you are doing a Save As image file from the 3D window in Open GL mode, you can turn off the contours from the 3D window settings. That would provide you the "clean" capture from 3D window I believe you are looking for.
