Difficult...
I think the best approach would be to divide the problem into 2 parts:
- 1) Make the top-most part of the fixture a level plane rather than a dome to avoid distorting the texture. Isolate that part of the texture and size it so just one tile matches the circular plane inside the light fitting.
2) The texture below this area is a pattern that repeats 4 times. I would make a texture from one quadrant, distorted to map onto a rectilinear area with seamless tiling to the sides. This can be mapped onto the dome inside.
I made a quick test (attached), but it's very rough. It would be easier to make the texture with a better image.
