And, of course, turning layers off is a nice alternative to deleting things.
For your signature, could you copy the info that you posted here, and paste it into your profile? Click the blue text Profile link near the top right - the signature field is near the bottom of that screen.

Of course there is another solution - use an external renderer!
If you use Artlantis you can get it working for free for 30 day trial - if you enjoy it you might have just justified buying it. Artlantis is so very easy compared to lightworks...
Maxwell is another but I would not recommend it as it is so slow to learn you will run out of time in the trial period!
