i would like to know how do i create a new materials-list
so each time i wanna apply a material, it would give me only my materials and not all of the existing ones.
also, is there a way to avoid giving a material to a wall for instance, and then give it a material for open gl presentation ?

Materials are managed through the attribute manager, but there are many objects that call materials in the default list.
My suggestion is to not delete the existing materials, but to make new materials with a single letter space in front of the name so they appear at the top of the list - this makes them easy to find.
All objects must have materials, so this "Avoid giving a material" i do not understand. Please clarify…

thanks for the first answer - good idea
what i meant in the second question is, is there a way to avoid linking regular, object material showing in the object proporties, and just use the material for rendering or open GL presentation showing in the attributes window.
hope i meade it clear.
