Problem
When Archicad starts a time-consuming operation, it is often impossible to stop it once it has started.
Pressing Esc may sometimes work, but during many longer operations Archicad seems to ignore the command completely. The user then has to wait until the entire process finishes, even if the operation was started accidentally or it becomes immediately clear that it is unnecessary.
This can be especially frustrating with large or complex projects, where certain operations can take a significant amount of time.
Wish
It would be very useful if Archicad had a more reliable and consistent way of interrupting ongoing operations.
Ideally:

pressing Esc should immediately request cancellation of the current operation;

cancelling should safely return Archicad to the state before the operation started, without corrupting the model or leaving a partially processed state.
Of course, some very short or technically non-interruptible operations may need to finish internally before stopping, but in general the user should not have to wait for a long process to complete simply because Esc was ignored.
This would make Archicad feel much more responsive and would be especially valuable when working with large models, Teamwork projects, hotlinks, IFC files, schedules, complex views, model updates, etc.
