Beam and column - automatic angle intersection & change angle and length synchronously

  • It would be great if there would be a possibility to have a beam and column intersect cleanly in 3d without having to manually adjust the end angles of the beam and of the column so they match.

  • It would be usefull to have one more possibility of moving freely (a combination of changing the length and changing the angle at the same time) constrained to the plane of the beam

@2D Maybe the beam and the column become a single tool that you can trim to one another, have all the same settings, can eyedrop into one another... Just an idea.

@NateLumen  didn't dare suggest something this mindblowing 🙂

But I was thinking about what the difference between the two is once they leave verticality or horizontality, from a modeling point of view. Maybe a tick stating if the element is a beam or column would suffice

@2D Mindblowing times call for mindblowing product updates.

I suppose beams and columns are represented differently in architectural drawings, but they often have a very close relationship structurally (as structural elements) and otherwise (when used as general "extrusions"), so perhaps the tools just need to "play together" better where they interact at a junction.

A solution might be to easily convert one to the other, if they stay as separate tools. The thing is, we often use tools that we have in ways that are not straightforward because we need to model things that are not straightforward. So we use slab tool for walls, wall tool for slabs, and other unintuitive solutions for our problems. Easy conversion between different tools (object types) would be a really welcome thing.

@GG_rakurs Sounds like maybe a separate wish is in order.
